Episode #5 released

Indicast’s episode#5 is a total bashing of the narrow minded approach we have been maintaining about FDI in retail. Its time we grow up as a nation and open up the FDI policies especially in the retail industry. We also talk about sachin and his tremendous comeback after his injury. We, at Indicast are proud to give a middle finger to Sachin’s critics.

About the header this week, its all in their eyes. Each one of them is looking right into the camera with the same kind of blank look. We hope you like it.

Keep the comments flowing and help us spread the word.

Indicast : Episode #4

We are back with our episode #4 which is a bit shortish coz Abhishek was having some network issue so he couldnt participate. Last week was really happening for Indicast, We got about 225 subscribers (through Itunes and other services) and a whole load of comments (Please keep them coming). But the biggest thing happened on saturday when we were listed #1 on the list of “New & Notable” podcasts by Apple on its I-tunes Podcast directory. One of the listener was kind enough to send us a screenshot. Another new feature that we started this week is to rotate the website header image. Every week the website will port a new header depicting typical Indian everyday life moments.

Lastly, thank you for all the great responses and encouraging emails that some of you have sent us. Keep listening and help us spread the word.

Episode notes:

  • Intro music extracted from Josh Remix of Powerless.
  • Ash, a contributor from DesiPundit talks about their plans for Blog Quake Day. Its call to all the blogger to join hands for charity for the recent earthquake victims. It’s time we took our social responsibilities a bit more seriously.
  • Are we tolerant or have we just gotten used to disasters. Indians are the 4th happiest people in the world with Pune being the happiest city in India.
  • Sleepless in India : 45% Indians sleep less than 6 hours a day.

Yours internetally,
Aditya

We have made it even easier to get to our website now. Indicast’s net address on the world wide web is http://www.TheIndiCast.com. The address will forward you to this website but we thought we should register this domain before we go platinum ;-) .

Note that we are THEIndicast.com and not Indicast.com (Indicast.com is a company acquired by Oracle)

Milestone #1

Thanks to our listeners, we are now amongst the featured podcasts on I-tunes if you search for “India” which might be a small things for many but I think its our first milestone. We are simple desis who get immense pleasure in such small things (I’d give anything for a vada-paav right now). Yahoo!Podcasts also rates us pretty well. You can rate us too. Good or bad we want to know!

Indicast would like to give a high-5 to Desipundit, and couple of other bloggers for the trackbacks. We believe that word of mouth is the best publicity for us so don’t forget to tell your friends to check us out.

Yours internetally,
Havoc

Indicast : Episode #3

Episode # 3 has been let loose on the net and is now available for download through all our podcasting channels. We tackle the IIPM issue in this episode with emphasis on freedom of speech/press and also about defamation. We did some research online and came across some interesting view point which we have presented. Then on a totally tangent topic, we spoke about the new James Bond.
Hope you enjoy the episode and the beggin for comments continue.

Episode notes :

  • IIPM sues a couple of bloggers. Did they really believe that they would get 125 crores from an individual? It was just scare tactics that back fired. There is a thin line between defamtion and freedom of speech
  • New James Bond unveiled - its going to be Daniel Craig, Daniel who?? Exactly our point. Mithun for Bond anyone? Best of Mithun’s action scenes. It doesn’t get any better than this.
  • We forgot to mention our contact details last time so here it is, Indicast@theindicast.com>
  • We would like to give a shout out to a friend of ours - Nani, who has been trying hard to join Indicast but is frustrated with the net connectivity in his area.
