Episode #9 is here (Finally!!)

For 3 days in a row we have been trying to record this episode and finally it here. We had initially planned for 4 guys to be online but then it so happened that everytime we tried to conference, one of the guys in India would have network problems. So then we finally stuck to whomever we had online. Porus (yes, its porus) is a partner at M-Power Consultants, a company that specializes in handling money for NRIs.

Also, we have been guessing that most of our listeners are from US and are students et cetera but we want some solid facts now. We have created a short listener survey to know about who you are and what you like. It’ll be of great help if you could participate in our listener survey.

Episode Notes:

  • Good and bad memories from Wankhede stadium.
  • Pissing off bengali’s and sardars, Porus doesnt discriminate.
  • Investing options for NRIs
  • What the heck is NRE, NRO and FCNR? Porus explains all
  • Finance is just too big a topic to cover in one episode. We will talk more about investing options in future episodes.
  • Hottest investment area in India is painting.

All our bengali, sardar and gujju friends, please use the comments to send hate messages to Porus.

Yours Internetally,
Aditya

  3. you really need to do something about your sound quality.. probably invest in some sound editing software.. and ‘i dont mind listening to ads for that.. btw.. this was quite an ad for porus’s co

  4. Raghav : thanks for the heads up but there was slight delay in the RSS feed to get updated.

SqrInt : We are thinking about buying good equipment but are not sure if that’ll help the quality since the occassional disturbances we get are due to internet connectivity in India. As for the ad for Porus’s Co, he did provide some very useful info which could help out somebody understand the confusing financial stuff so whats wrong if I plugged his company name and website ??

  6. Infact, Mhatre even i felt after listening to the conversation that we actually discussed a little more abt my firm. And if i was a listener i would feel that Porus would have actually paid something to get the airtime.
We just need to take care that we dont overdo it, coz listeners might sometimes get put off. And finally the success of such an initiative depends entirely on the listeners.
    thanks for the feedback sqrlnt.

  7. OMG, I think you guys got me all wrong. I see no harm in ads. I mean, if nothing else, by talking about your firm you gave yourself credibility. That is what I meant by ‘quite an ad’ .. quite a good ad. I wasnt put off at all by the promotion..

  8. SqrInt : See what you have done, Porus feels like he has “used” IndiCast !!!

Porus : I think you owe me some advertising money… F&^*, I’ll need an NRO account!!!

  9. To clean up the audio you can get a software like SoundSoap 2. No need in investing in equipment unless you choose.
