I received an email a couple of days back from a reporter at NDTV to ask if I would be interested in being interviewed about podcasting. After getting an overly excited positive response from me, the NDTV crew landed at my place. They spent 4 long hours shooting for the story.

Infact, I had expected it to get over within an hour with a few camera shots from here and there but the news business isn’t all that easy as it seems to be. Prasad - the reporter and Cameraman Sanjay informed that the 4 hours of shooting will be followed by almost 8 hours of editing for a 4 minute story.

I am not sure about what’s going to be snipped off during the editing process but we talked about how Indicast is different, how we podcast and then why do people listen to us. I have been on radio once while managing an event in College but being on TV is going to be fun and awesome. We had never expected that podcasting would put us on National Television.

Now, the “Miss India” part - Thanks to all the listeners who have been downloading our episodes and spending almost 20 minutes listening to each episode and two thumbs up to everyone who has commented or sent us feedback on our episodes.

We are (like any other Indian) passionate about cricket. So we had initially planned this episode to be about what we feel about the “Young” Team India. But as it happened, we recorded this episode the same day that Team India was embarrassed by a depleted England team so it ended up being a rant. Then the second topic that we squeezed in was the Miss India Contest.

Also, in our typical style we talk about non-sense stuff from here and there. We just hope no one takes offense to it. I ask a very valid question in all the TP that was going on.

This week we aren’t late and had a guest with us for this show. A friend of ours, Shalin Mody, works at NASA and we had him over to chat about his experiences. We didn’t go into details about ISRO and talked generally about space exploration.

It’s becoming a habit for us to release episodes with a “sorry for the delay” apology but this is the last time. A lot of things happened but nothing that we could talk about for 15 mins entirely with boring you people so what we have done is spent time on several topic. • Bird flu was said to have hit India crippling the entire poultry industry. Abhishek cirps that the poultry Industry is a $6 billion industry and India is the 2nd largest egg exporter in the world. Don’t ask me where he gets these stats.
• Ganguly-Chappelle Saga continues but this time Chappelle gave a low blow to Ganguly.
• 51st Filmfare took place past weekend and Black took everything.
• We are looking for a movie reviewer so if you are interested, just drop in a mail at indicast at gmail dot com. BTW, Abhishek saw Taxi 9211 and recommends it to us. But it’s a “keep your brains at home” movie so don’t expect it to be a revelation or anything like that.
