Episode #20 - Load Shedding

The summer has always been hot but this time around adding fuel to the fire is the daily load shedding ritual for about 3 hours. I have heard stories where 8 hour load shedding has become a norm. So we decided to take that topic up and present our views on it. I tried hard but couldn’t help giving out a few numbers. Abhishek has the honour of hosting the show this time. You will also hear dogs barking in the background for about 2 mins, those are my two dobermans. I tried but couldnt clear the barking from the original recording.

Episode Notes:

  • Load Shedding 101
  • Load shedding has become a part of our life. Want proof? People are writing poems on it!!
  • We are responsible for the load shedding as well. Electricity theft has long been a problem in India. 42% of the electricity supplied is lost due to “transmission losses” reports BBC.
  • Finally, we were on NDTV. Indicast got some very good coverage. You can watch the video on Youtube.

Yours Internetally,
Aditya

  1. i have never really gotten the point of load shedding. if india wants to become more developed, it should really address basic problems and look beneath the surface instead of creating more and more sky scrapers and tech cities.
another thing — was looking forward to a sort of sachin episode #2 since you guys are self confessed die hard fans? i thought this epi would be some sort of “we love you sachin but not in the broke back mountain way seriously” sort of ode to him. but you guys didnt even do a “get well soon” message! awww. are you slowly weaning off his godlike looks/temparament/whatever you see in him? maybe its time to look at dravid instead, hes definitely more gorgeous. :D

  2. The point of load shedding is I think as simple as demand & supply. The demand with all the tech cities, neon signages have gone up but the supply still remains the same (infact supply has declined).

About sachin, his well being is always on our mind. I think he is saving his best for the upcoming world Cup and as far as dravid goes, he can never become sachin.

And I prefer not to comment on who is cuter for obvious reasons.
