Plagiarism Guaranteed!!!
One fine morning, the 19 year old Harvard sophomore, Kaavya Vishwanathan wrote a book, got rich, got famous, and then, got caught. While she seems to have been only “inspired” by one of her favourite authors and that the similarities between her book, ‘How Opal Mehta Got kissed, Got Wild and Got a Life’ and Sophie Kinsella’s ‘Can You Keep a Secret’ were only coincidental, we at indicast discuss the fine line between inspiration and plagiarism.
The NGO that we researched about this week is by the name of Apne Aap, an NGO which has taken up the daring initiative to end sex-trafficking in India.
It is a long weekend here in India with Saturday being Buddha Pournima. So, it is my first saturday off, atleast officially!!!

Hey!
Nice podcast- but seriously, Kaavya Vishwanathan is SO not hot! I’m sorry, just had to say it!
cya!
Yeah, plagiarism is a pretty serious thing in our school. Get caught, and get kicked out. We even have to submit our important work to “turnitin” (http://www.turnitin.com) a website dedicated to fishing out the plagiarised bits of our work. But Kaavya said she didn’t realise how she had “internalised” the book so much- which is also very possible so I don’t know whether she is innocent or not.
Also, I’m putting myself at risk by saying this becuase you guys are such die-hard Sachin fans, but I’ll say it anyway. Dhoni is so much better!
haha.. This will probably be my first and last comment as you guys are probably going to block me from commenting ever again!

Prerana: It wasn’t too cool of Kaavya to do a ctrl C Ctrl V job on her book, but, we stand by our opinion that she’s hot!
turnitin.com seems to be a good way to uphold the academic integrity of schools. And one cannot blame Kaavya you see. As you said, she had only “internalised” Kinsella’s works, so why blame the poor hot girl! It was purely “unintentional”!!!
Aditya, you handle Prerna’s last comment man. I had called up Sachin. He has promised me to get into tripple figures atleast once on the next tour. This Lassie named Dhoni is taking all his endorsement deals and Sachin doesn’t seem to be happy even after the $40 million Dollar coup; says, he could have done much more without the likes of Dhoni, Pathan and Sehwag in the team.
I think Adi’s goiing to kick me out of the podcast after that comment. But, Prerana, whatever you and I say, Sachin rocks!!!
Raman: It is a bit of an irony that Tiger Woods earns $80 freaking million for what he does! But, statistics are a great leveler. Schumi, I think deserves all of it for what he has been doing for more than a decade.
Keep chipping in, Raman. That was a good bit of trivia.

Prerana : Although I am not a biologist/doctor, I can exactly diagnose your problem of not finding Kaavya hot. Its lack of testosterone.
And dhoni, he is more flambouyant, showy and is a marketeer’s dream but lets wait before we compare him to SACHIN. See what happened to Sehwag, people are already yelling about his lack of footwork and his failures. Sachin has managed to keep a float for 18 years, lets see if Dhoni is still there 2 years from now. And only then we can talk about his cricketing technic.
Raman : There was this great email that said how much jordan earned and gave all the statistics and at the end of it there was just one paragraph saying that ” if Bill Gates doesnt do anything for 10 more years, jordan still wouldnt be as rich”. I’ll post that email if I get it. Also I think, its what you give back that counts too.

haha! If testostorone has such effects then I’m very glad i don’t have much of it! And about Dhoni… alrite we’ll see how he does in the next couple of years- I bet he’ll rock just as much. He’s like THE package… good looks, good batting good personality, quick-witted…
It’s possible that I’m a bit biased becuase I haven’t really seen Sachin in his early years- heck i must have been a toddler at his peak time and I’ve only started liking cricket since the last world cup so that might explain it.
Anyways, thanks for replying!

And Sachin is definitely better than Dhoni… haha no comparison! sorry Prerana! And I highly doubt Dhoni would be classified as good looking… the one and only thing I do love about his looks is his hair. And I’d have to say, that’s about it… my point being, there is no one like Sachin, and I am totally with Aditya on this one!

Pratiti : Finally you are back.. I thought you I pissed you off since I didnt meet you. Really sorry about that. You and prerna are probably our only two vocal female listeners so I definitely dont want to loose you both. So lets take it easy on Prerna about Sachin v/s dhoni.
