Episode # 35: Justice - Open your Eyes!

Indicast is back with its 35th episode and for Vastu reasons, we’ve postponed our “new look” for one of our next episodes. :) Register yourself now! We would love to know all you guys better. The registration page will take you not more than a few seconds… and did we mention, Indicast has a ‘No Spam Policy’!

Moving on…

In this episode, we discuss the spree of criminal cases that india has had to tackle in the past couple of months. Priyadarshini Mattoo, Jesica Lal, Mohd Afzal et al. The Supreme Court was more in the news this quarter than it has been in the past decade. With all eyes on how deftly it treats the high profile case of Jesica Lal, the Supreme Court has its task cut out.

If doctors take the Hippocratic Oath vowing ethical practice of medicine, do Lawyers have a similar oath? Professionally, the 77 year old criminal lawyer, Ram Jethmalani has every right to defend Manu Sharma. But, does his profession see client above truth and justice? You tell us.

We also try to propose a solution to terrorism. Well, it ain’t a politically correct one. But, what the heck… terrorism ain’t sacred either.

Indicast celebrates one year!!! Indicast style salaam to all our listeners who have stayed with us throughout! Keep those comments coming in. We love em’ all. Also, we have created a record of sorts in this podcast. It is one of those pacy episodes with a file size that won’t annoy you!

It is that time of the year when India gets a face lift… literally. The festival of lights and fire crackers lightens up the country. And with it comes sweets and the ‘faral’! “Diwali shopping” is a trend which all Indians look forward to and live up to it in style by saving some bucks for the D day. I went shopping too and learnt that shopping is a social science! Listen to know more!

While an Asian has been awarded with the Nobel Peace prize, we discuss the reasons why Gandhi missed the bus.

Don disappoints! But, sure is a treat for all SRK fans. Go watch it… at your own risk! This podcast is dedicated to the Indian film industry! Tell us what you think!

India Inc. is on a high internationally. We are on an expansion mode and we decided to cover the exploits of a few companies which have made us proud!

Episode # 29: For God, Country and Mahim Cola!

The Gods must be crazy! Well, that’s what a rational man in his right minds would say to his god fearing friend if the latter were to believe in the “Mahim Sweet-Water Miracle”! We, at Indicast are God fearing men as well, but, we fear science as much as we do God! There is a thin line between science and supernatural and we are careful not to disappoint God by believing in his “miracles” blindly!

20th August, 2006 marked the end of an era. Narayan Murthy, the founder and now, Chief Mentor of Infosys will not be on the payroll of Infosys anymore.

Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (KANK) inspires a husband to shoot his wife!

Indicast #15 - Multi-topic

It’s becoming a habit for us to release episodes with a “sorry for the delay” apology but this is the last time. A lot of things happened but nothing that we could talk about for 15 mins entirely with boring you people so what we have done is spent time on several topic. So here is Indicast’s episode # 15 for you.

And oh yeah, we have started a mailing list so that you can get email updates etc. So please check out the right hand side navbar and sign up if you can. And as usual, your comments will be appreciated.

Episode Notes:

  • P Chidambaram gave us one of the most boring budgets ever but Laloo spiced it up the Rail budget a bit by trying to compete with low cost airlines. Lalooji, Hamara namaskar sweekar kije!!
  • Bush’s whirlwind visit is being considered as a huge success for India. Everything is said to have gone India’s way and now its Bush’s turn to convince US congress to amend its laws.
  • Bird flu was said to have hit India crippling the entire poultry industry. Abhishek cirps that the poultry Industry is a $6 billion industry and India is the 2nd largest egg exporter in the world. Don’t ask me where he gets these stats.
  • Ganguly-Chappelle Saga continues but this time Chappelle gave a low blow to Ganguly.
  • 51st Filmfare took place past weekend and Black took everything.
  • We are looking for a movie reviewer so if you are interested, just drop in a mail at indicast at gmail dot com. BTW, Abhishek saw Taxi 9211 and recommends it to us. But it’s a “keep your brains at home” movie so don’t expect it to be a revelation or anything like that.

Yours Internetally,
Aditya
